Hello Roger:

P.I. Museum has been contacted by an outfit in the UK called "Blink Films".
They are working on a documentary for television.

They will have an FBI agent from the 1970's re-create the act of planting
listening devices on Mob guys in the Old Las Vegas.

You can read their own descriptions of what they are looking for below. I
have some items that might work for them but I thought

that I would ask for your advice and in-put on this to learn more.

Tell me, if you can based on your experience and perhaps research on the
subject, what kinds of devices would have been used?

Obviously, if you have specific devices in mind and, maybe even pictures to
show what they looked like, then that would be great.

Should this project go forward then P.I. Museum will be mentioned and that
would (in the bigger picture) help move things ahead.

A "Nickle Tour" of the P.I. Museum collection awaits you here in San Diego
so please remember to call and then come and visit.

Fraternally, Ben Harroll

Subject: Bugging equipment - Documentary

Hi Ben,

Sorry to not get back to you sooner. We are still keen to take this forward
and I think I can give you some of the descriptions of the kinds of things
our FBI agent would have used.

# 1 -The first environment was the bugging of a shop floor by installing a
bug in the vent, the bug had a remote switch on allowing it to be turned on
and off remotely. Please send me photos of any bugs that may be similar to
what he would have used.

# 2 - The second environment would have involved a bug being installed on a
table in a casino where two people sat. The bug would have been attached to
the table and again would have a remote on and off switch. Again please send
photos of a bug that he would have used.

# 3 - One recorder he used they installed in a bonnet of a car that picked
up audio from people walking up and down beside the car, I mentioned the
word Negra to you, I know you do not have any of these because they just too
expensive but if you have any recorders that would have been similar then
that would be good as well. Please send photos.

# 4 - The brief case you mentioned with a microphone inside sounds
intriguing as well, so please send me a photo of that as well.

# 5 - We talked about parabolic mikes, if you have any of the era, that
would be great as well. I know you mentioned that they do not work very well
but the documentary sequence that they would allow would work very well, so
if you have any of those that would be great as well.

The date we are looking to do this would be 5th June. But what might be
easier is that you send us the equipment minus the suitcase via Fedex secure
package and we would sign a contract giving us full responsibility for the
equipment for the day and for us to send it back you. We would then use our
best endeavour to give you and PI museum a 'With thanks to.' credit at the
end of our film and of course fully reimburse for the postage and packaging
costs of it. Please let me know your thoughts about this.

Thank you very much for your time and I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards,

Crispin
