Well, yes. And lurkers can eavesdrop on mail lists. And Google
searches can reveal amazingly intimate details. And products are
sold which betray customers. And elected officials lie, cheat, steal,
deceive and hurt voters. Priests and financial advisors and lawyers
and teachers and parents predate youngsters siphon pensions and
family trusts. Mentors exploit proteges, female and male. Wall
Street grants obscene bonuses to bandits for sucking dry earnings
of cuckoled investors.

It wasn't this way in the old days. It was much worse. Once only a few
had the means and wits to abuse the many subject to terror of gun,
knife and gospel.

Now there are exes who used to do vile things who are working against
their former colleagues, bosses, lovers and promisers of a good
life forever if you just obey and trust authority as if it was blessed
by god, you know what I mean, darling, wink, give a kiss while this
spychip is slid under your studded collar.

No place to hide when panopticon is pervasively tagged on everything
you wear, eat, drive, ride and pleasure. Store Santas are wired as
are those Ipods and plasmas -- for your protection, natch, says the
fine print.
