TheOnion is the most tongue in cheek publication (well, except maybe
Mad Magazine) there is.

They do, from time to time however, take up actual problems - as *they*
see them - in a comedic manner.

So, the surveillance issue talked about is a "real" problem. You know,
as Pogo says "We have met the enemy and they is us."

When "they" start chipping automobiles, and this is coming, how are we
going to get off the grid? (Substitute clothing, books, et al for
automobiles...)

I am perfectly capable of learning from my mistakes. I will surely
learn a great deal today.

"A democracy is a sheep and two wolves deciding on what to have for
lunch. Freedom is a well armed sheep contesting the results of the
decision."

"The best we can hope for concerning the people at large is that they
be properly armed." --Alexander Hamilton
