The handwashing is seen as a way to reduce the incidence of new
infections. But then, people who don't wash their hands regularly are
unlikely to begin doing so once they begin suffering the consequences
of their already weak personal hygiene.

I would suggest to carefully consider your options before submitting
your stuggling immune system to one of the multiple risks associated
with visiting a doctor, keyword: nosocomial infections. I always keep
a two week treatment of antibiotic at hand, amoxicillin is my
antibiotic of personal choice. Whilst it won't help with any viral
infections, it can mean the difference between having a nasty cold or
a life-threatening pneumonia, should a secondary, bacterial infection
set in.

As stated, good ways to deal with a respiratory tract viral infection
(as caused by any of the hundreds of viruses in the Norovirus group)
are to mitigate the dehydration caused during sneezing, snivelling
etc. and to avoid physical exertion. Self-Isolation to prevent
yourself becoming a dispersal vector for the virus is also a good
idea, and it also reduces your exposure to other pathogens. So stay
out of the office and off of public transport.

Can we get back to TSCM stuff?
