Recently, I read several articles abt. Flexlm. Follow ur instruction, it's not very difficult to get the seeds.
But, I found there's sth. special in this lic. The server line, it doesn't use normal hostid to encrypt the lic, but use "Vendor_hostid" fuction.
I read the manual and then follow the instrction and try to build the special lmcrypt.exe.
But seems like sth. wrong, I can't generate lmcrypt.exe coz' the temp file "vendor_hostid.obj" can't be generated. I checked all the procedures and think I was exactly following it. But how can??
Is there any special setting in some file ? Pls help me.

And I found it's strange that if I use "Server Rce any 27000" then "feature rce 1.0 permanent uncounted 0 hostid= any" to generate lic. Can do.
But if I change the "uncounted" to "1" then Cannot do.
I think under first situation the deamon just crossed all certifications coz' it's an unlimited lic.
So I wonder if some good guy could help me to found out the problem when I was building the Vendor_Hostid function to my lmcrpyt.exe

Thanks in advance!!!!!!!!!!!

OK, this is confused on 2 parts.

Define what you mean by "Vendor_hostid"; I think you mean that the HOSTID= line has been replaced by one custom defined by the vendor, this is achieved at build time by modifying lsvendor.c, the FLEXlm manuals describe this in some detail so read up there.

The second part, is your problem utilising counted lines whilst debugging the vendor daemon or is it generating counted licenses via lmcrypt?, I just can't work out what you are doing.
