Hi,

I have a 16 series cisco router.these are the interfaces available.
Router16#show ip interface brief
Interface IP-Address OK? Method Status Protocol

Ethernet0 192.168.10.131 YES manual up down

Serial0 200.20.20.2 YES NVRAM down down

01:14:30: %QUICC_ETHER-1-LOSTCARR: Unit 0, lost carrier. Transceiver problem?
01:15:30: %QUICC_ETHER-1-LOSTCARR: Unit 0, lost carrier. Transceiver problem?

There is an ethernet port which is not being listed by this command and the error you see just above is continuously being displays. Is this due to the corrupted interface ? Please advise

The easiest is going to cisco site and fill the search field with your displayed error.
There is an example:
Quote:
The following logging message appears at 00:40:20: "Unit 0, lost carrier. Transceiver problem?."After the administrator plugs the Ethernet cable into the Ethernet port, the interface comes up. See 00:40:25.

Quote:
0:40:20: %QUICC_ETHER-1-LOSTCARR: Unit 0, lost carrier. Transceiver problem?

00:40:25: %LINEPROTO-5-UPDOWN: Line protocol on Interface Ethernet0, changed state to up
I hope this is fixing your problem.
Anyway, that is not a reverse engineering issue, I guess...

Best regards
