This is my first post so please be gentle. Anway I'm trying to crack a program called H****L. This program pops up with a nag screen asking for a
name and serial. I have tried to unpack it with various programs like;

DilloDumper, Armadillo Deprotector, Demaradillo, Armadillo Killer, UNARM etc all no no avail.

I havent been able to find PEiD's generic unpacker plugin.

Of course i used peid to determine that it was version 3.0 - 3.6. But peid seems to give the incorrect entry point. Also when stepping through the program (olly 10.3) I get stuck in an infinite loop. I tried unpecompact and got this:

Entry point reached: 0x49d000 then of course it starts the trace it ends up setting a breakpoint at: 0x4d45AA, then the programs gets stuck.

I am going to buy the program next week. At least that will get me into the program. Becuase as it stands you get the nag screen and if you dont have the name/serial you have no other choice but to close the program
But i wanted to crack it because even after you buy it you have to wait thirty days and then go back to the regestration server and re-register and still... you can only get to use on one machine. That really pissed me off when i read that.

Any suggestions. I've read the various tuts, but none seem to address this particular issue.

So you have to enter a name/serial to run the program at all? Then I'm afraid NONE of the tools you listed would work. Unless you had at one time a "demo" version that would at least run, you won't be able to just unpack it.

Yes, it requires a serial/username to work at all. There is a demo but its a limited 8 bit version of the program and it dosent require an serial/key.

Like i said in a week or two i will buy it...then of course i can reverse to my delight.

I think the way that they are marketing this program spells disaster.
Basicly i'm Sol until i get the key=serial/password right?

well most of the time if you unpack a arma app it will acted like it was registered with a serial.. so you can just use MEPHiST0 tut and unpack it that way
