I echo the sentiment of many on the blog site -
1. It couldn't happen to a more deserving couple of guys
2. It can only bring good things to MS and the quality of its product
3. I regret the potential loss of an 'independant voice' which can freely bring us such things as the exposé of Sony DRM rootkit
4. I intend to make a complete backup of all the Sysinternal apps in very short order

Man...
At the rate they are going, I suppose we will now hear M$soft is taking over IDA (hyuk, hyuk)
Imagine that...Your IDA copy cannot run because you are not using GENUINE windows...bwahahahahaha!!!!

I think you got that backwards...
Your IDA copy cannot run because you ARE using GENUINE windows...
Sad day indeed to lose such good, independant thinkers to M$. Hopefully their contributions won't just get swept under the corporate rug.

I'm taking all bets, M$ will require WGA for download - I've noticed that M$ has gotten awfully generous in the free neat stuff download area lately, of course your SOL if you don't have GA installed.

LLXX,
NO WAY! -
Actually there is more than a couple of ways to skin a cat, purely through happenstance all my OS's are legit, but I do keep copies that are otherwise, when a machine with a pre-installed OS is in trouble and requires the original install disk, you're screwed unless you have one, beats re-doing the whole ball of wax.
What I really find funny is M$ is particularly outraged about illegal copies of Windows, when, if you are familiar with how they started, you know that their roots are firmly planted in a foundation created thru blatant piracy - DOS was a rip-off of CPM and Windows was a bad attempt at emulating Apple's GUI - ahh but that's all in the past now!
