Dear Diary,

Today I found a really interesting channel on irc called #cracking.  Because
of a few friendly people, I have gotten some really cool programs that
should help me in my endeavor to learn cracking!  I'm really excited about
the great find :) Well I'd better see exactly what I've got and how to use
it.

Dear Diary,

It's been about a week since I've gotten a tool called SoftIce and I'm still
having a really hard time with using it :(  I've found one person that's
kinda helped me a bit.  His nick is SasbenJr.  He doesn't seem to be around
a lot but when he is, I find that he gives clear answers to my questions.
This SoftIce program is really strange - I just hope I can learn to use it
well.  Time to go back to learning!!

Dear Diary,

The "cool" channel #cracking isn't turning out to be so cool after all.   I
don't mean any disrespect towards the ops there, but nobody is willing to
help.  On the off chance that somebody is willing to answer a question or 2,
they get impatient with my "newbiness" :(  OH YEAH!!! I've met another
person that's fairly new to cracking.  He's from mexico! His nick is Niabi.
We sometimes try to work on the same program and attempt to help each other
get a little better.  Sasben has been around a bit more and he's helping
both of us to get better :)  Anyway, time for study time again.

Dear Diary,

Niabi, Sasben, and I have been talking in one of our little chat sessions
and I've got this really good idea!  I don't know if they'll go for it or
not, but I'd like to start my own channel!!  I'm not sure of the name, but I
think it should be aimed toward the new guys and getting away from the "I'm
a god so I don't have to help anybody" attitude.  The guys in #cracking are
OK, but it's very difficult to get good answers (if any are ever given) on
anything.  Hmm I think that's about it for today.  /me wishes himself luck!

Dear Diary,

It's finally happened!!  In a very good chat session, we've decided to name
the channel #cracking4newbies :)  My goal is to get away from the "leeto"
mentality of the ops and provide a place where ideas and help can be easily
shared.  Again, I'm not trying to disrespect anybody in #cracking, but they
think of themselves as 1000 times better than anybody else because they have
a little @ in front of their nicks.  Hopefully our little channel will last
and we'll learn alot (not to mention have a lot of fun while doing it).  I'd
better sit down and write up a few ideas to throw at the guys in our next
"meeting" ;)

Dear Diary,

It's official!!!  #cracking4newbies is alive!!  We've decided that ops
should play the role of teacher.  There are so many ideas being tossed
around right now that it's hard to keep track of them all, but we've decided
on a few very important things.  The very first and most important is that
anybody in the channel should help when he can and that nobody will "bash"
the new guy.  The 2nd most important idea is that the ops shouldn't feel
like they are "leet" because of what they know or "who" they are (we're all
newbies with much to learn and much to give, so I don't see this as being a
problem).  We're all pretty much sick of the attitude that if you can do
something someone else can't then you are special!  As a means of sharing
what we know, we've decided to write tutorials on programs that we've
cracked.  That way if there is a better way, someone else can explain it to
the author.. or if someone else is stuck on the same program then it might
help them.  Hehe I'm so excited at the moment, but I'd better study a bit
more now.  Hopefully I'll have good news to tell you soon!

Dear Diary,

I don't know how much time I'll have in the near future #cracking4newbies
('c4n' for short) will probably take a lot of my time.  We're looking for
other people that think like we do, and we've written a few small/simple
tutorials so far.  Hopefully we can get our channel's name on the internet
somewhere and get a lot of people helping each other and be able to provide
a "safe" learning environment.  Wish us luck!!
