Insecure Red Hat Servers on guard. Default installations of Linux version 6.2 and 7.0 appear to be the target of and subsequent cause for the proliferation of the Ramen Worm. From a strategic perspective, the worm is being compared to the now infamous Morris Worm of the 80's, the fallout of which led to the birth of CERT. Owners of infected servers will notice the original content of their main page altered to contain the slogan "RameN Crew -- Hackers looooooooooooove noodles."

The content of fair-use rights is in question as it relates to the soon to be released "anti-piracy" software. Microsoft's "product activation technology," while well within the realm of the law, reportedly prevents the installation of an application on more than one computer. Looks as though we may have another Napster-like debate on our hands with the same groups posing as opponents.
