Those Israeli ships sit two miles off shore, so there is plenty of reaction time. They would have had four minutes minimum to react.

Israel Fired On An Egyptian Ship

JERUSALEM (Reuters) - A missile fired at an Israeli naval vessel off Lebanon hit a civilian boat, possibly from Egypt, the Israeli army said on Saturday. A spokeswoman said those on board were believed to have been evacuated, adding it was unclear if there were any casualties.

Why Would Iran Do This?

Israel is trying to start WW-3. They will shoot children on Gaza beaches, bomb a University Professor's house killing his entire family, and Bush will say "They have a right to defend themselves".'
