The story sounds true, but then you have his driver, and the machine gunner, also risking their lives.

Michael A. Monsoor, a navy seal,  had been near the only door to the rooftop structure when the grenade hit him in the chest, bounced to the floor, and then he dove on it to protect the others.

There is a 99% chance the stories true, so give the witnesses a lie detector test, and if they pass then make a movie like 'Blackhawk Down'. Name a barracks at Fort Knox after him, have his hometown name the main street, Monsoor Street.
