Subject: Fox Affiliate's Incompetence Exposes Private Info of
600+ People
Mime-Version: 1.0
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"
Status:
This message was sent out to over 600 people this morning:
Your email was obtained from a file open to the public located
on Fox 45's website at: http://www.wrgt.com/mail.txt
This file not only contains your email address, but your
mailing address, comments, and anything else you submitted to
Fox 45's website (Dayton,Ohio).
A simple examination of the submission form, formerly located
on Fox 45's (www.wrgt.com) website, pointed us straight to the
file. We immediately informed Fox 45 of this gross violation
of privacy through repeated faxes and messages. While they took
the submission form down, the file remained for anyone with
internet access to see. Our address is in there as well.
After repeatedly failing to make progress with Fox, we decided
to email all the other people at risk.
Fox's blatant incompetence in dealing with this matter reflects
a media we've come to expect (especially Fox): sloppy, irresponsible
and arrogant.
We encourage you to share your feelings with Fox 45 (and/or us) and
help us force Fox into taking action:
WRGT-TV FOX 45
45 Broadcast Plaza
Dayton OH 45408
Phone: (937) 263-4500
Fax: (937) 268-5265
Our e-mail address is blackflag@blackflag.net.
Note: This e-mail is being sent out one time to e-mail addresses
taken from the aforementioned file obtained from Fox 45's website
and/or members of the media in an effort to increase public
awareness. We apologize if you received more than one copy of this
mail; we have attempted to remove duplicates from the list we
received.
