A fire
department lieutenant testified that an open bottle of Seagram's gin
was found in
Sliwinski's car and
that she was "frustrated and angry" minutes after the accident as
rescue workers extracted her from her car.

A police detective who
arrived on the scene shortly after the accident testified that a woman
later identified as Sliwinski's mother came to the accident scene,
picked up her daughter's purse and began to walk away with it.
The woman "said that was her daughter that was in the crash. … I told
her I needed the purse back,'' Skokie police Detective Michael

said from the witness stand.

She was charged with homicide and reckless driving. There
was no mention of drugs, liquor, etc. She has been in a comfy
mental hospital for two years.

psychiatrists are expected to testify that she was insane at the
time of the crash, the Sun Times reported.

Prosecutor Madge Gemskie overlooked the fact that Sliwinski had
three speeding tickets, a retail theft charge and an underage drinking
charge on her record before the car crash.

The victims relatives said
Sliwinski knew what she was doing when she took their loved ones from
them. Monday, Sliwinski cried in court as her attorneys waived her
right to a jury trial. The case will be heard by a county circuit
court judge.

Her lawyers said she was bi-polar and tried to commit suicide.

Entire Thing Is A Complete Travesty
A logical guess would be the girl was stoned on drugs and
liquor, and was speeding, to a drug buy. The suicide is illogical,
because women don't do it, and if they did, why was she wearing a
seatbelt? The prosecution contend
she was taking illegal drugs
including cocaine and ecstasy as well as having a dependency on
alcohol.

What An Image
Her parents couldn't attend and see her in a prison out for
fear of remembering Auschwitz. Sliwinski was no longer the
drug abusing stripper, but a misunderstood Yenta, with
psychological problems.

Judge Saw A Troubled Child
Prosecutors dropped the Murder One charges, went to homicide.
Sliwinski was eligible for a 20-year sentence -- a contention Howard
rejected. The verdict of guilty, but mentally ill, of reckless
homicide, and received four years.
Sliminski has served two years in a 'Medical Facility', and will
spend another year in a cushy
medical facility in Dixon, Illinois.
