Israeli were so broken by bombs, they fled Northern Israel, and went to Haifa. Brave Jewish soldiers who took an oath "Masada won't fall for a second time,"  broke down in tears. Masada is the Jewish legend about a thousand Jews, who lived on a mountain top, ate seagulls for two years, as they defied Roman attacks, until they finally jumping off a cliff.
   
The implications of this situation escaped international eyes.
