August 25, 1944 - Enlargement of above left photo with two of the seven marks overlapping the building roof. The map on the right is the way the building looked in 1944.


  • Many marks throughout Birkenau appear to have been drawn on these photos to look like inmate groups marching and standing formation.

  • Two marks, drawn to look like inmates standing attention, were mistakenly drawn overlapping from the ground to the roof of a sleeping barrack, because the forger did not see that this particular barrack had an extension.

  • It is physically impossible for the 2 marks to have been groups of people, and is a 'smoking gun' which proves the photos were marked.
