- Two of the thick lines around the left cremation building are inside the location of the wire fences, and the right cremation building has no surrounding thick lines. The most likely reason is that the marks were drawn on the air photos to coincide with Birkenau ground photos taken in May 1944, which were made public in 1961at the Adolf Eichman trial, and later published as the Auschwitz Album (see references).
- Inspection of these locations in 1993 showed no foundations of previous fences, or roots of shrubs.
- In air photos the marks have no height, which indicate they were drawn on.
- Marks on left alleged gas chamber are located below the center line of the roof. Inspection of the cement roof in 1993 showed no evidence that previous holes existed at these locations.
- The four marks on the right alleged gas chamber are in different locations on May, July, and September air photos.
