Benefits of Silent Sentry
The passive, continuous wave nature of Silent Sentry,
combined with the scalable, expandable architecture, provides many benefits in government
civilian agency and military applications.

The shape of the Silent Sentry volume of
coverage.
- Low system cost due to the COTS-based
architecture and the use of highly reliable, existing, commercial radio and television
broadcast signals. There is no expense of purchasing and maintaining transmitters.
- More accurate and more frequent data updates from
continuous wave radio transmissions than from conventional radar pulsed transmissions.
- Three-dimensional trajectories are computed with
multi-static illumination.
- Real-time tracking is possible due to the high
power of commercial processors.
- Passive systems transmit no radio frequency
energy, are undetectable, and are environmentally friendly.
- Excellent illumination of low-flying objects is
possible since radio and television stations broadcast close to the ground.
- Effective all-weather operation since the low
frequencies of commercial radio and television broadcasts are unaffected by weather.
